It only took one time for Bill to be hooked on gold mining. “The first time you ever found that piece of gold, you got that gold fever”, says Bill Brewer, owner of Carolina Prospectors. Bill already owned a coin shop, which he opened in 1995, but when the opportunity came along, Bill added prospecting to the store as well. Though it has the name Carolina Prospectors, Bill says the store is nothing like the name implies. “It’s not just prospecting, we do metal detecting, we do coins, we buy and sell gold and silver, we buy jewelry, and different things like that”.

Besides being the owner of Carolina Prospectors, Bill is also the President of the Iredell-Statesville Coin Club, which hosts an annual coin show.
