If you’ve stopped at a convenience store in the area, there’s a good chance that you visited one of the many Home Run Markets. The growing convenience store chain has been in the Alexander family for the past three generations. Now in their 86th year, they have 20 stores in 5 counties, with 12 of those being in Iredell County. David Alexander, President of Home Run Markets, shares that they are continuing to grow with their newest location off exit 45 on I-77.

When asked what it takes to run a successful convenience store, David attributes it to the people. “It takes really good employees”, he said while praising the great work their teams have done all throughout the pandemic. This family-owned, local business prides itself on hiring local, and stocking their stores to meet the needs of the community. “We try to do everything we can to make sure everybody is happy”, David said.
