Bomb Threat Investigation at Statesville High School


On Monday, February 16, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Statesville Police Department received a report of a potential bomb threat at Statesville High School, located at 474 N. Center Street in Statesville. The caller also reported being in possession of an AR-15.

Officers immediately responded to the school and, in coordination with school administration, began evacuating students and staff from the building. Once the school was safely evacuated, officers conducted a thorough search of the property. The search included bomb detection K-9 assistance from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

No explosive devices or weapons were located on school grounds, and there is no credible threat to the school at this time.

The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our highest priority. We appreciate the cooperation of school staff, parents, and our law enforcement partners during the response to this incident.
