Final Dive-In Movie of the Summer

The final Dive-In Movie of the summer is Friday, Friday, September 4, 2026, with a showing of SpongeBob SquarePants: Search for SquarePants poolside! Tickets must be purchased online.

Labor Day Closures and Schedule Changes

In observance of Labor Day, all City of Statesville offices, the Statesville Recreation Center, and the Statesville Event Center will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

The Statesville Leisure Pool and Bentley Splash Pad will remain open. For admission information and hours of operation, visit www.statesvillenc.net/aquatics.

Sanitation Schedule Adjustments

Residential Collection

• Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, September 8.
• Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, September 9.

Commercial Collection (businesses with roll-out toters or garbage containers)

• Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, September 8.

City Council Meeting Schedule City Council will hold one regular meeting in September on Monday, September 14, 2026. The meeting will include a public comment session.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over: Labor Day Traffic Safety

The Statesville Police Department is reminding everyone to celebrate Labor Day responsibly and never drive impaired. Plan ahead for a sober ride, wear your seat belt and call 911 if you see a suspected impaired driver. Officers will be on high alert throughout the holiday weekend as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Read more here.

SFD Launches "Fill the Drum" Battery Take Back Challenge

Rechargeable batteries can start fires when thrown in household trash.

While battery collection is available year-round (Mon-Fri from 8a-5p at Fire Station 1), the Statesville Fire Department is launching the Fill the Drum Battery Take Back Challenge through October 3, 2026.

The goal is to fill the Call2Recycle collection drum before Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, 2026!

Residents can bring unwanted rechargeable batteries to Fire Station 1 at 822 Fifth Street, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Together, we can help keep our community safe.

If it charges, don’t trash it - recycle it.
