Road Closure: South Meeting Street closed beginning August 31, 2026

South Meeting Street will be closed from West Front Street to West Sharpe Street beginning Monday, August 31, 2026, for approximately one week. The closure will allow the contractor for the Waterline Project to complete waterline tie-ins in the area.

As work progresses, the closure will temporarily expand to include the intersection of West Front Street and South Meeting Street. The city will provide an update before this change takes effect.

Motorists should avoid the area, use alternate routes and allow additional travel time. Access to nearby properties will be maintained when possible. The schedule is subject to change based on weather and construction conditions.
