Connecting with the Future Workforce at Senior Career Fair
The City of Statesville was proud to participate in the Iredell-Statesville Schools Senior Career Fair held today at Mitchell Community College. The event provided an opportunity to connect with graduating seniors and share the wide range of career paths available within city government.
Representatives from multiple departments were on hand to engage with students, answer questions, and highlight what a career with the City of Statesville can look like. Special thanks to Nick Turner from Human Resources, Chief Aaron Kennedy from the Statesville Fire Department, Shannon Viera from Statesville Public Power, and Officer Ben Hardy, Cpl. Shannon Humphrey, and Officer Brandon Koontz from the Statesville Police Department for representing the city.
Throughout the event, students had the chance to learn more about careers in public safety, public power, and local government operations. Conversations focused on not only current job opportunities, but also the long-term benefits of public service, professional development, and making a meaningful impact in the community.
Events like this play an important role in building connections with the next generation of the workforce. The City of Statesville remains committed to investing in future talent and providing opportunities for students to explore careers that serve and strengthen our community.
