I took the tour, learned more in 45 minutes than I did in two years of community college. Turns out 80% of their juice goes to other little distilleries who use their kitchen and stash their barrels like it’s grandma’s root cellar. Makes sense though — place is loaded with big ol’ tanks and gadgets that look like NASA took up drinkin’. Everyone I met was sweeter than a church potluck in July. Southern hospitality turned all the way up. And the whiskey? Buddy… it tasted like a warm bowl of peach cobbler that got baptized in oak barrels. I ain’t lyin’. Smooth enough to sip, strong enough to make you start textin’ your ex “just to check in.” If you’re anywhere near Statesville and don’t stop by, that’s on you.
