Rustic Meets Elegance at Green Gables Event Venue in Statesville, NC

When Christi Ratcliff was celebrating her son’s wedding at Green Gables Farm earlier this year, she had no idea that in just a few short months, she would own the property. The very next day after the wedding, the farm was listed for sale, and Christi and her husband decided to purchase it. Though they both have successful careers in other areas, they felt compelled to buy the venue. “I think what happens is you realize there’s more out there”, she said, “Eventually you want to build something else, you want to be part of something even greater”.

Though she has only owned Green Gables Farm for about a month now, it’s clear to see Christi’s excitement for being a venue owner. “There’s nothing more fun than seeing two people walk down the aisle and love each other and want to spend forever together.” Christi has always been in the business of working with people and feels that her past roles have helped her successfully transition to working with brides and event coordinators.

50 Year Property, Modern Flair

Green Gables Farm is situated on 35 acres and features an updated barn, 4,000 square foot open air pavilion, and a 3,000 square foot home, which is being used as a place for brides and grooms to get ready for their big day. Though the property itself has been around for over 50 years, the buildings have been updated with a more modern flair. Christi describes the venue as, “where rustic meets elegance”. The farm is conveniently located near hotels, dining, and the highway, but gives the feel of a secluded country venue. “We have the best of both worlds where we’re at”, Christi said. While the venue is mainly used for weddings, they also host a variety of events from corporate gatherings to personal celebrations.
